David Lynn Battles

David Lynn Battles, son of Maxine McGrew Battles and the late John Battles, was born in Kennett on January 26, 1955 and passed away at his home in rural Bloomfield on Thursday, July 10, 2003 at the age of 48. On January 23, 1973, he was married to Debbie Hicks. Mr. Battles was a resident of Senath until 1992 when he moved to Bloomfield. He was employed as a Control Room Operator for Associated Electric in New Madrid from 1987 until ill health forced his retirement. Survivors include: his wife, Debbie Battles of the home in Bloomfield; two sons, Mike Battles of Bloomfield and Levi Battles of St. Louis; one daughter, Tammy Pullum of Bloomfield; his mother, Maxine Battles of Senath; five brothers, Bill Battles of Richardson, Texas, Glen Battles of Racine, Wis., Larry Battles of Flintville, Tenn., Gary Battles of Garland, Texas and Randy Battles of Kenosha, Wis.; two sisters, Angelia Battles of Senath and Faye Gurley of Kennett; five grandchildren, Austin and Tyler Battles, Rachel and Tommy Pullum, all of Bloomfield, and Emily Battles of St. Louis. Other relatives and many friends survive to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his father, John Battles, and two brothers, Jerry and Kenneth Battles. Friends called at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 6 - 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2003. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, July 13, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Billy Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery. PAID
