Leonard Creg

Leonard Creg, son of the late Walter McClellen Creg and Ethel Belle Jerles Creg, was born on August 19, 1916 at Advance and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter on Thursday, July 10, 2003 at the age of 86. Mr. Creg was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church near Dexter, a retired farmer, a former manager of a gas station at Bernie and a former employee of Public Water District #1. He was united in marriage to Ivorene Davis on August 18, 1934 at Bernie. Mrs. Creg survives of the home near Dexter. Besides his wife, survivors include: two sons, Dale Creg of Dexter and Gary Creg of Eureka; two brothers, Harold "Bud" Creg and Wayne Creg, both of Dexter; two sisters, Ruby Crow of Bernie and Betty Jones of Dexter; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Gene Creg and Wilson Lee Creg; and one brother, Dawsey Denzil Creg. Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 -8 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2003. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2003 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Clifford Wray officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
