Jesse Willard "Jay" Whitledge, son of the late Edward and Martha Christian Whitledge was born at Bloomfield on April 5, 1915 and passed away at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at the age of 88. Mr. Whitledge as a lifelong resident of Bloomfield, a member of the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield and the Bloomfield American Legion. Jay was a long time employee of Monarch Feeds in Dexter and retired from there in 1977. On October 5, 1940 he was married to Geraldine McFerron, she survives of the home in Bloomfield. Other survivors include three dauthers, Carolyn Brown of Sunrise Beach, Ruth Kem of Jefferson City and Louise Causey of Bloomfield; eight grandchildren, Jay Spoonhour of Las Vegas, Nev., Steven Spoonhour of St. Louis, Matt Brown of Des Moines, Iowa, Heather Crocker of Ellendale, Minn., Jason Kem of St. Louis, Eric Causey and Travis Causey, both of Bloomfield, and Dana Hukel of Sparta; five great-grandchildren, Kalli and Kyle Causey of Bloomfield, Olivia Hukel of Sparta, Michael Boesch of Des Moines, Iowa and Grace Spoonhour of Las Vegas, Nev. Other relatives and and many friends survive and mourn his passing. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harrison and Ray Whitledge and three sisters, Eula Calvert, Beulah Patterson and Mildred Bennett. Friends may call at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 6 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2003. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Frank Bain officiating. Burial will follow in the North Antioch Cemetery at Bloomfield. PAID
