Marjorie Mae McAllister, the daughter of the late Lewis E. and Erma Jane Alexander McLean, was born in Freeland, Mich., on Nov. 1, 1924, and died at the Three Rivers Healthcare North Campus in Poplar Bluff on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at the age of 78. Mrs. McAllister was a resident of Shook and had lived in California, Michigan, Illinois and Missouri. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church near Shook and the Eastern Star Lodge in Greenville. On July 6, 1946, she was married to Hershel Lee McAllister in Shook, and he preceded her in death in December of 1993. Surviving are four sons, Willis McAllister of Shook, Ben McAllister of Ely, Iowa, Roy McAllister of Poplar Bluff, and Bill McAllister of Puxico; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Beatrice Scott of Cuba and Mary Clark of Willow Springs. She was preceded in death by one son, Hershel Lewis McAllister in 1974 and two brothers, Douglas McLean and Donald McLean. Visitation was held after 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico with Bro. Dale Rogers of Dexter and Bro. Byron Beck of Poplar Bluff officiating. Interment followed in the Crossroads Cemetery near Shook. Memorials may be made to the Crossroads Cemetery near Shook.
